Mainframe tooling and emulation

Emulate mainframe workloads in the cloud.

Execute z/OS GOFF binaries in a Rust-based emulation runtime, with HLASM development tools and JCL job scheduling. We use formal modeling and verification to improve correctness.

GOFF program binaries enter IronMain’s Rust-based emulation runtime, which runs on cloud infrastructure such as EC2, Fargate, and EKS.

01 / The platform

Assembler, runtime,
and job scheduling.

Use LSP and MCP tools to work with assembly, deploy GOFF binaries to containers, and manage JCL batch jobs.

02 / How the tools work

From source code
to batch execution.

IronMain separates source tooling, binary execution, and job orchestration. Work with HLASM and GOFF, then use JCL to describe and submit batch jobs.

  1. Navigate HLASM source.

LSP support provides source navigation and hover documentation. Macro expansion and MCP tools support codebase migration.

  2. Deploy GOFF binaries.

The Rust runtime supports EC2, Fargate, and EKS deployments, with an interpreter and debugger for mock and production environments.

  3. Submit and track JCL jobs.

The scheduler validates job structure, steps, procedures, and datasets. It dispatches workloads and records job state, logs, return codes, and audit history.
